Merriweather Sans Italics have been added by Google. They are live. :-)

If anyone has URLs to show me how they are using this addition please let me know!

    That’s a really good true italic (especially in letters like w and y)! I think it’s particularly interesting that the f doesn’t have a descender like on the serif. IMHO if a font’s italics aren’t true italics it isn’t worth it to have the italic styles.

    This is the current specimen used for Merriweather Sans when it’s announced as a cool free font on blogs. I hate that. So I created this nice little specimen:

    It’s simple, stark, and showcases all eight styles of the typeface. I hereby dedicate this work to the public domain with CC0.
